Alison King
Faculty & Staff Directory:
The community at The Norman Howard School believes:
“every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them. Who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” - Rita Pierson
Ms. King shares that she grew up with her own learning obstacle, “Auditory Discrimination,” which is a central auditory processing skill that involves the ability to differentiate among phonemes—the smallest significant units of sound in a language. Academics have been a struggle throughout her life and she empathizes with the trials and tribulations Norman Howard School students face. These life experiences influence Ms. King's teaching in the classroom and her work as a math tutor every day.
Outside the classroom, she is a "health nut" and loves Cross Fit and Spin. Her goal is to one day finish a triathlon. If she is not working out, she is cuddling with her two small Maltese mixes Sofia and Rufus.
