Teaching is pure joy for me. I love watching the students gain confidence in their photography skills, working with their classmates on projects, and making new friends.
Mr. Bennett began volunteering at NHS in 1983 before joining the school full time four years later. He is a professional documentary photographer capturing the lives of people who struggle with hardship and persevere and hopes his work inspires others to have compassion and empathy. Mr. Bennett is so passionate about his teaching because, he shares, “The Norman Howard School represents everything I wish was afforded to me when I was a teen with a learning disability.” Mr. Bennett grew up in Connecticut and came to Rochester to attend Rochester Institute of Technology. Mr. Bennett and his two children keep busy with 4 dogs, 3 cats, a horse, and goldfish.
